Review meeting with Hon’ble Union Minister SSI and ARI
Hon’ble Union Minister SSI and ARI Shri Mahavir Prasad held a review meeting at Mumbai on 08.02.2006 with the Sr Officers of SISI, RTC, KVIC, Coir Board and advised the officers on different issues to extend their services more effectively to cater the needs of public. He further advised to pay special attention to the weaker sections while extending the services. Shri G.M. Ambhore, Director, SISI, Mumbai presented the achievements of the institute in the F.Y.2005-06 the review meeting.

4th Global Vendor - 2006
The 4th Global Vendor Development Programme was arranged at the premises of SISI, Mumbai from 18th to 20th Jan.2006.The event was inaugurated by Respected Shri Kripa Shankar Singh, Hon. MLA, Maharashtra State in presence of Shri G.M.Ambhore, Director, SISI, Mumbai, Shri N.Naik, Director, RTC Mumbai, Shri V.G.Kalantri, President, AIAI Mumbai, Shri Rakshpal Abrol, President, BSSIA Mumbai, Shri B.Mitra, CGM, NSIC on 18th Jan. 2006.
The Western Railway, Indian Navy (Western Command), Ordnance Factory, NTPC, BEL,MTNL, BSNL, Western Railways displayed nearly 5000 items which they were looking for procuring from SSI units.100 Units also exhibited their capabilities to register with Govt. depts. and LSUs as a Vendor. 
 
Business delegates from Isreal, Indonesia, Poland, Mauritius, Russia, Sri Lanka have negotiated a business of Rs. 400 Crores with Indian Suppliers. Nearly 10,000 business visitors visited the exhibition during the three days.
 
Shri Satyananda Mishra, Addl. Secretary and Development Commissioner (SSI) was the Chief Guest for the valedictory function. Prizes were awarded to the best exhibitors at the hand of Hon’ble chief guest. Shri S. Vijaykumar, Dy Director (Chem.) summed up the highlights of the achievements.

National Convention on Essential Oil & Isolates
SISI Mumbai organised a National Convention on Essential Oils & Isolates at Mumbai during 2nd & 3rd December, 2005 for Prospective and Potential Entrepreneurs, Interested existing entrepreneurs, Senior & Middle Level Executives from SMEs, Farmers etc.  The Resource Persons were mobilized from Agriculture Universities, Agriculture College, Horticulture Department, Successful Entrepreneurs, Consultants etc. 
 
Powerpoint Presentations included Agro Technology on potential Essential Oil namely Patchouli, Geranium, Vetiver etc. A Souvenir, containing valuable techno commercial information was released during the Inaugural Function to commemorate the event. 185 participants from all over the country attended the two days Convention.
