Shri Ravi Parmar IAS Jt.Development Commissioner (SSI) visited SISI, Mumbai  on 7^th April 2006.He held the meeting with the SISI Officers and ITPO officers for preparing development plans for fruitful utilization of land available in possession of SISI Mumbai.

Shri G.M.Ambhore, Director, SISI, Mumbai was nominated by Govt. of India, SIDO, as a nodal officer In- charge to coordinate the SSI Stall during Hanover Fair from 24^th to 28th April, 2006. The SIDO had put a stall wherein 31 Indian SSI Unit's Products were exhibited. The fair was inaugurated by Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Manmohan Singh. Hon’ble Union Minister, Kapil Sibbal and many other Dignitaries visited the SIDO Stall. More than 2000 visitors and potential buyers visited SIDO stall and expressed their interest to have business with India in Engineering items. The enquiries of more than 30 Crore are under negotiations for conversion into Export orders.
