Secretary (SSI & ARI) w.e.f. 01/01/2007.
We, the Officers of SISI, Mumbai, the representatives of
SSI Associations in Maharashtra and all concerned

MSMED Meet at
COSIA

The
Chamber of Small Industry
Associations (COSIA), Thane had organised Western
India MSME Meet at Thane on 13th Jan. 2007. About 150
representatives of different associations from Maharashtra,
Gujarat, Karnataka, M.P. and other states attended the meet.
Also representatives of SIDBI, Bank of India, Bank of
Maharashtra, ECGC, Officials of State Government and Media &
Press were present for the meet.
Shri Sanjeev Kaushal, IAS, Jt.
Dev. Commissioner (SSI), was the Chief Guest. Shri Kaushal
gave a detailed presentation on MSMED Act, 2006. He also
highlighted the Cluster Development programme undertaken by
SIDO and features of National Manufacturing Competitive
Programme announced by the Govt. of India. A Magazine was
also released at the hands of Shri Kaushal. He interacted
with the participants and answered all the key issues raised
by the representatives of the different Associations.
The Inaugural Session was also
addressed by Hon'ble M.P. and the Member of MSME Board, Shri
Prakash Paranjape. The experts from Defence, Labour Reforms,
Banking and Taxation Sector deliberated on the wide range of
issues concerning to MSMEs in the respective fields. Shri
G.M.Ambhore, Director, Shri R.B.Gupte, Dy. Director (IMT) &
Shri A.D. Patil, Deputy Director (Stats) of SISI Mumbai also
attended the meet in addition to the representatives of
various associations & entrepreneurs.
Impressed by the deliberations of Shri Kaushal & presence
and support of SISI, Mumbai to the event, the President,
Chamber of Small Industry Association (COSIA), has expressed
his gratitude by sending a letter of thanks to Director,
SISI, Mumbai

| Report on Packaging for
Exports at Latur |
|

A Training Programme on Packaging
for Exports was organised at Latur on 06th & 07th Dec., 2007.
The programme was organised in association with the Indian
Institute of Packaging and District Industries Centre, Latur.
The objective of this programme was to create an awareness on
emerging requirements of Packaging Technology, especially in
Export Business.
36 candidates attended the programme. Shri Rajiv Kumar Mittal,
IAS, Collector & District Magistrate, inaugurated the programme,
he also attended the programme on both the days. Officers from
DIC & MITCON also attended the programme. |

cluster Development
SISI Mumbai, has undertaken
the Diagnostic Study of following Clusters in Maharashtra :-
1) Automobile Parts Cluster in
Aurangabad
2) Cosmetic Cluster in
Mumbai.
The Detailed Diagnostic
Study Report including the recommendations for various
interventions is under preparation. Ministry of SSI, Govt.
of India is implementing Integrated Cluster Development
Programme (ICDS), the details are available at
