Creation of Media Cell

A Media Cell has been set up in the Office of DC(SSI), New Delhi for coordinating various media related activities which will include radio talk and dissemination of information and services of SIDO at National level. 

For local coordination, publicity and media related activities, SISI, Mumbai has also set up a media cell committee under the Chairmanship of Director, SISI, Mumbai.  The committee will have Dy. Director (Chem), Dy. Director (Mech), Asstt. Director (Admn), SIPO (EI) and SIPO (Stat) as its members.  The Dy. Director of Industrial Management & Training Division will be Member Secretary of the Media Cell Committee.  The members of Press and Media may please approach Director, SISI, Mumbai for educating general public and educated unemployed youths for guidance on self employment.

 
 
JDC(SISI), New Delhi visits SISI, Mumbai
Mrs. Manisha Shridhar, IAS, Joint Development Commissioner (SISI), O/o. DC(SSI) New Delhi, was on official visit to Mumbai on 23rd & 24th January, 2003.  Mrs. Manisha Shridhar, met the Officers of SISI, Mumbai and discussed various issues with them.

 

Mrs. Shridhar also addressed the participants  of Management Development Programme on Industrial Management which was in progress at SISI, Mumbai.  She advised participants to take keen interest in IPR related issues.  She also interacted with the participants on the impact of WTO on small scale industries.

National Convention on Business Opportunities in Biotechnology for SMEs

SISI, Mumbai had organized National Convention on Business Opportunities in Biotechnology for SMEs on 16/17-02-2003 the Programme started with the Inaugural Address of Shri Bhagwan Sahai, IAS, DC(Inds.), Govt. of Maharashtra.  225 Delegates from all over the country attended the Convention.  The programme was organized in association with The National Small Industries Corporation Limited & Biotech Consortium India Ltd.  A souvenir focussing opportunities in the field of Biotechnology was published in the Convention.

Shri Pankaj Jain, IAS, Director, Bio-tech cell of Office of the DC(SSI) addressed the gathering.  Besides, Dr.G.S.Jaiya, Director, SME, WIPO, Geneva was also present and delivered a lecture on IPR related issues in Bio-technology.

SUCCESS STORY OF SISI TRAINEE
Shri Sugatpriya Shinde has attended Entrepreneurship Development Programme of one month duration and Management Development Programme of one week duration conducted by SISI, Mumbai in the year 1995-96 and 1999-2000 respectively.  Shri Shinde has set up his unit named: Sudhiraja Plastic Pvt.Ltd., At Goa Highway, Gat No.126/1, At Balsai, Post Nagothane, Tal. Roha, Dist. Raigad-402106.  The unit is having its head office at 3/322, BIT Block, Sheth Modi Shah Lane, Mazagaon, Mumbai-400 010.  The unit manufactures LDPE/LLDPE Valve type bag and gusseted film roll.  The unit is also an ancillary unit to IPCL for plastic packaging materials.   The investment in plant and machinery is around Rs.78 lakhs with turnover of Rs.4 crores.  The unit has repaid loan of MSFC in April 2002.  The entrepreneur is always appreciating SISI for its advice and help. We wish him all the success.

Smt. Juthika Bhattacharya, ISS, Dy.Director (Stats.) posted at SISI, Mumbai, took voluntary retirement from Govt. of India Service.  She was relieved on 01st Feb. 2003.  In a send off function arranged,  the Officers & Staff Members of SISI, Mumbai applauded the meritorious services of  Smt. Juthika Bhattacharya. Before her posting in SIDO , Smt. Bhattacharya has given her valuable services in the Deptt. of Economics, Deptt. of Company Affairs, Ministry of Agriculture & in Planning Commission. The Family of SISI, Mumbai wish her very prosperous and peaceful future life.
