The Institute arranged 3^rd Global Vendor 2004, Exhibition-cum-Vendor Development Programme between 19^th to 22^nd Feb. 2004.  Hon’ble Union Minister for SSI & DONER, Dr.C.P.Thakur, inaugurated the Programme and visited the exhibition.  In his Inaugural Address, the Hon’ble Union Minister encouraged the SSI Entrepreneurs by appreciating their efforts to develop innovative & quality products.  During the exhibition Respected Secretary SSI & ARI Shri B.S.Minhas, IAS, Respected Shri Suresh Chandra, IAS, AS&DC(SSI), Shri P.K.Goyal Indl. Advisor, Shri J.K.Arya, Addl. Indl Advisor, Shri S.K.Kinra, National Expert, ICAMT / UNIDO and many other dignitaries from the O/o. DC(SSI) New Delhi paid their precious visits.  The foreign delegates from Jeddah, UAE, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and other countries also visited the exhibition and made special inquiries for outsourcing products from India.

The large scale exhibitors like DGQA, Western Railways, NTPC, MTNL alongwith Institutions like NSIC, KVIC, Credit Guarantee Fund Trust , SIDBI, PCRA, Canara Bank, Machine Tools Prototype Factory, Ambernath etc made their presence very effective. 

 

82 SSI exhibitors from sectors like Engineering, Sheet Metal, Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, Rubber, Packaging Machine, Plastic, Chemicals Industrial Readymade Garments, Leather items etc displayed their products.

 

More than 7000 visitors visited the exhibition and business worth 17.2 crores has been generated.

The seminars organised on National Vendor Development Programme and Global Outsourcing received appreciation from all quarters as they could disseminate right information from business promotion point of view.  The representatives of DQGA, Indian Navy, BEST, Mahindra & Mahindra, Godrej, NELCO etc made their presence felt by initiating negotiations from prospective vendors which they could identify during their visit to the exhibition.
